COLD OPEN | Oscar emerges from his trash can, disgusted at how it appears to be another nice day on Sesame Street. After Merry Monster pops by playing "Tiptoe Through the Tulips" on the ukulele to exemplify two of today's sponsors (the letters M and U), Oscar is surprised to see a big loud truck that breaks down in front of his can, driven by a Grouch girl who looks particularly appealing to him...
SCENE 1 | Gordon comes by and asks Oscar who the new Grouch is and where she's from. Oscar makes it clear that he doesn't want to know, but the Grouch introduces herself anyway: she's Prunella, who hails from England. The truck she's driving is shaped like a large trash can, and happens to be her mobile home which she's used to travel the world. Oscar asks her when she's leaving, and she answers that she's staying to purposely annoy Oscar. As the Grouches continue feuding, Gordon comments, "Sounds like this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship."

Regardless, Prunella talks about the last country she visited: Italy, showing a map of the country (which she finds appealing as it looks like an old boot). She then shows a picture of her favorite piece of garbage there - the ruins of the Roman coliseum. Gordon disagrees in thinking it's garbage, pointing out that people from all over the world come to visit the historic landmark.
