SCENE 1 Elmo, wearing a raincoat, rain hat and rubber boots, welcomes the viewer. Celina walks over, noting he's ready for rain, though there's not a cloud in the sky (as usual). Elmo is instead wearing them because they begin with R, one of today's letters.

SCENE 2 Big Bird is eating at Hooper's Store, when Mr. Handford receives a call from his dentist, reminding him about his appointment, meaning he'll have to close the store (Gina, meanwhile, is at class). Big Bird offers to stand outside the door, telling people Hooper's is closed, but Mr. Handford has his own plan - making a sign. Big Bird sees his services aren't needed, until Zoe comes by, needing help reading the signs.

Mr. Handford puts his apron around Big Bird and begins the check-up. The appointment ends and Big Bird exits, forgetting to return Mr. Handford's apron.
