SCENE 1 At Celina's dance class, Big Bird and the kids (including Gabi, Lexine, and Michael) are confused when Celina displays the number 7 and announces she'll show a video - neither of which Big Bird thought would be involved with a dance class. Celina reveals that the reason she showed them the video is because they're going to adapt it into a performance. There are eight students in the class (including Big Bird), which means there will be seven alligator kids and one king. Big Bird thinks he's perfect for the role of the king given his size, but Celina decides who will play which part by drawing all their names out of a hat to make it fair.

SCENE 1

Big Bird waits in suspense as each of his classmates' names are called, hoping via his inner monologue that he won't be one of the alligator kids. To his disappointment, his name is picked for Alligator Kid #7, while Gabi gets picked to be the Alligator King.

SCENE 2 Big Bird watches in jealousy as Gabi tries on the Alligator King's paper crown. He thinks he has a shot because Gabi's head might not be big enough for it to fit, but Celina shows that it's adjustable.

SCENE 2

Celina and the class examine all the props they will use in the play, making sure there are seven of each gift. Big Bird still thinks of ways to get the part of the Alligator King and almost finds a loophole since Gabi is a girl; Celina states that Gabi can portray the "Alligator Queen" instead. Big Bird rejects other ideas of getting his way, but becomes even more upset when Celina explains that the seventh Alligator Kid doesn't bring a gift. He storms out of the classroom before she can finish her sentence and tells the class to sit tight as she follows him.
