| Oscar announces that there's no service on the A, B, C, D, E or F trains. Just then [[Mrs. Grouch|his mom]] comes flying out of the subway ("Now that's what I call an express!"). Oscar asks her what she's doing here, and she says she had to see personally that Oscar opened the newsstand. After confirming he did, and assuring her that he's doing it, not for the money, but to make people angry, for which she says she is very proud of him, he shows her the "closed" sign he made, which he uses to fool a customer ([[Fran Brill]]) -- but his scheme backfires. He feel like a failure, but his mom cheers him up.
