Picture Segment Description

SCENE 1 Maria sees in the newspaper that Diva la Diva, the world's loudest singer, is performing a concert today. Soon after Big Bird enters the Fix-It Shop, Diva La Diva herself arrives with her broken toaster. She sings them a sample of her "Broken Toaster Aria," causing the entire store to shake with her booming voice.
Cartoon A man demonstrates what newspapers are made of, and finds an ad for "One slightly used monster."

SCENE 2 Carlo prepares Diva a salad at Hooper's Store. Big Bird warns him against hearing her sing, but Carlo feels honored when she launches into a verse of the "Healthful Foods Opera"...until he experiences firsthand what her loud voice can do to the store. She leaves to check the status of her toaster, while Big Bird consoles Carlo: "You shoulda seen the Fix-It Shop."

SCENE 3 Carlo, having just finished restoring everything Diva knocked from the shelves with her singing, sends Big Bird to check on her toaster. With her salad finished, Diva feels like singing again. Carlo tries to prevent another disaster by suggesting he sing her a song this time - "No Matter What Your Language." Diva joins in at a reasonable volume, but delivers a loud compliment afterwards, wrecking the store once again.

SCENE 4 Diva's toaster is still not ready. She is reminded of her "Unfinished Opera," but Carlo stops her from singing and asks if she's ever tried singing quietly. Diva is unfamiliar with this concept. Carlo demonstrates by singing "My Little Game." Diva goes along with it, soon making the song louder and louder until the store is an even bigger mess than before.
SCENE 4 cont'd Maria finally delivers Diva's repaired toaster and Big Bird takes her to the subway. As Carlo surveys the damage, Maria can't help but make a joke about asking him to speak louder.

SCENE 5 Maria and Carlo enjoy the peace and quiet now, until they hear Diva's booming voice singing the "Sesame Street Theme." They discover she hasn't returned - it's only a tape she provided Big Bird with. He turns up the volume on his cassette player, causing all his items to fall from the walls. Everyone starts cleaning up the mess, as Diva announces the sponsors.
