SCENE 1 Big Bird has decorated his nest area for a visit from his cousin Abelardo from Mexico, who's being picked up at the airport by Maria and Luis. Rosita helps him out by teaching him something special to say in Spanish - "manzana" (apple). Big Bird practices the word while he waits.

SCENE 2 Oscar has arrived on the street with Abelardo, having been notified of his arrival by Pancho (who also sent some stale tortillas). Oscar leaves Abelardo in Telly's hands and claims he's taught him some English - the word "Scram!" Telly is pleased to see he can communicate a little with Abelardo and leads him to Big Bird's nest. However, they discover Big Bird isn't there! They both begin to search for him, as Telly remarks, "How hard could it be to find an eight-foot, yellow bird on Sesame Street?"

SCENE 3 Maria and Luis report to Big Bird and Rosita that Abelardo wasn't at the airport as planned. Big Bird thinks he may have taken the bus and goes to consult the local bus driver, while Luis goes to phone Abelardo's abuela to see if he missed his flight.
SCENE 3 cont'd Maria considers filing a "missing bird report" with the police, when Oscar admits he picked up Abelardo. Maria is angry at first, but becomes relieved to know that Abelardo is safe and somewhere in the vicinity. She goes off to look ("How hard can it be to find an seven-foot, green bird on Sesame Street?"), just missing Telly and Abelardo as they traipse by.

Unbeknownst to him, Abelardo is sitting just on the opposite side of the wall, singing along in Spanish to Big Bird's photo. The two get up to leave and finally run into each other. Everyone gathers around for their delayed reunion.
Animation The word LOVE is formed on paper.
