SCENE 1 Baby Bear welcomes the viewer to his Bear Scout Meeting, where Papa Bear (the scout master) announces today’s activity – opening your own juice box. Baby Bear has trouble opening his straw and putting it into the box, but Miles helps him out. Papa Bear rewards him with a Bear Scout helping badge. He tells them to drink up, which Baby Bear needs no help with.

Papa Bear gives them their own Bear Scout hats for their “Bear Scout Good Deed for the Day”. Once the family leaves, Papa Bear wonders what kind of porridge they’re going to prepare.

SCENE 3 The Bear Family is now in Gordon and Susan’s apartment and waits for dinner to be served. Baby Bear admires the decor and complements the jazz they have playing. He is also surprised that Miles can set the table all on his own, which Miles claims he learned to do as he got older. Gordon reminisces of when Miles was young; cuing a song performed by everyone about what the kids were unable to do when they were young (“I Wish I Knew How to Do That Too”). Miles gives Baby Bear a plate to set down on his own. Papa Bear catches a whiff of dinner and wonders what kind of porridge it is.
Cartoon At the Pride Day Ceremony, Donald is waiting to describe his proudest accomplishment, and is initially unsure of himself next to other impressive students. He finally proudly acclaims his achievement, tying his shoes all by himself.

However, the Bears are shocked to learn they’re not having porridge tonight, but chicken, collard greens and corn bread. They try the new food and discover they like it!
Song "You Don't Have to Be a Grizzly" explains that kids and animals can like the same foods.

He goes to the front of the line and finds out that the first two people in the line are in a disagreement over which of them is first in line. The gate opens, and everyone walks all over Kermit.

SCENE 5 As the Robinsons eat their meal, Miles asks Papa Bear to pass the pepper. He ducks under the table and crawls his way over to Miles to sprinkle it on his food. When Baby Bear wants some, Gordon says he doesn’t have to crawl under the table, so Mama Bear does it. Soon after, all the Bears are under the table until Gordon tells them to get up. They show them how to pass the item to someone. Miles then asks for ketchup, which Papa Bear brings him by crawling under the table a again (not realizing the rule applies to not just pepper).

SCENE 6 Everyone has finished their meals, and the Bears reflect on what they’ve learned today. Papa Bear offers to throw out the dishes for them, when he learns people recycle their dishes by washing them. The Bears then partake in their after-dinner bear hug. Gordon announces the sponsors as he and his family get in on the hug.
