COLD OPEN An announcer (Martin P. Robinson) presents today on Sesame Street: "The Princesses and the Bus", starring Gina as the narrator, Zoe as one princess, Lexine as the other princess, Bob in various roles, and Telly as the bus.

SCENE 1 The story begins. The bus loved giving rides to people each day. Once everyone gets out, the bus is ready to go back to the garage. The two princesses are by the garage one day after going shopping. The bus asks where they live. Zoe shows the map with Lexine. They talk about Lake Wannaswimma but explain to the bus that they have to cross the lake. They live on the other side. The bus says that this is awful because he’s a bus. Buses can’t swim. The bus is sad that he can’t help them get home, but tells them to not worry because he’s a smart bus. The bus has an idea and drives off. The princesses wonder what is his idea.

He brought a friend with him, the little red boat. The little red boat would be happy to bring them across the lake. The princesses don’t need the little red boat. The bus wonders why. Zoe explains to the bus that they can drive over the bridge. There’s another part of the map and it shows the Lake Wannaswimma Bridge. The boat says that they won’t be needing him since there is a bridge as he goes away. Zoe doesn’t want to make things harder for the boat, but there’s more past the bridge. Their palace isn’t there. There’s a mountain called Mountain Neverclimb. Their palace is on the other side of it. The bus is not happy again. He’s a young bus. He can’t go up that big mountain. He’s not strong enough. Now he’ll never be able to take them home. He needs an idea, which he gets fast. He’ll be right back and drives off.

The bus explains that he isn’t strong enough to go over that mountain. Lexine explains to the bus that he doesn’t have to drive them all the way up top. He can just drive around it! The plane says that they won’t be needing him since there is another part of the road that goes around it as he goes away. Their palace is past the mountains and he can drive them all the way home. But the princesses might want a healthy snack on the way home. He has another plan and will be right back. They wonder what he’s going to do now.
