SCENE 1 Big Bird and Snuffy are playing with a model train set in the yard, when they notice the viewers. Big Bird tells that they're going to pretend to be a train around Sesame Street. Big Bird pretends to be the pilot, while Snuffy acts as the caboose. Big Bird starts to travel, making "chugga" sounds like an engine, but notices Snuffy not moving with him. He prefers for them to make a "choo-choo" sound instead. The two fight over what sound to use, trading chuggas and choo-choos back and forth. They eventually realize they can put the two sounds together and make a "chugga, chugga, choo-choo" - a much better sound for a train. They put it to use as they travel around the yard.

SCENE 2 Alan enters the yard from Hooper's Store, where he notices Big Bird and Snuffy's train. Snuffy warns him not to step on their tracks as they circle the crate. They then start slowing down to a stop. Snuffy mentions to Big Bird how they've only traveled around the yard and suggests expanding their zone to other areas. Big Bird decides they'll stop at Hooper's and pick up passengers there.

SCENE 4 As Alan packs two paper bags for Gordon, the train reaches its destination...right back at Hooper's Store. After the two kids leave the train, Alan hands Gordon the paper bags, which he mentions are kind of heavy. Gordon declines Big Bird and Snuffy's offer to transport his heavy groceries on their train, but they insist it'll be more fun for them. After Gordon loads the groceries in the wagon, Big Bird tells him to wait at the train station, 123 Sesame Street. When Gordon sits on the steps, the two begin traveling, but he points out they're going in the wrong direction. Big Bird says they're riding on the train tracks, which travel well away from the direction of his apartment. Gordon waits at the steps while the train departs, hoping they arrive soon.

SCENE 5 Gordon still waits on the steps, when Maria enters from the apartments, and asks why Gordon's sitting. He tells her he's waiting for his groceries to arrive by train, which puzzles Maria. They start to hear the sound of Big Bird and Snuffy's train, when suddenly, before the train reaches the station, one of the wagon's wheels breaks off. Thinking they're stuck and can't continue, Big Bird questions what to do. Gordon tries to get the groceries himself, but Snuffy and Big Bird keep him away, since they haven't reached the station yet. Fortunately, Maria has a set of handy pliers with her and goes to fix the wheel. Gordon comments how lucky it is they have a train mechanic around.

SCENE 6 With a final hit of Maria's hammer, the wheel is fixed, so the train can now reach the station. Big Bird and Snuffy approach the steps, when a cow (Alice Dinnean) unexpectedly blocks their path in front of the building. Gordon suggests going around it, but Big Bird reminds him how they can't go off their tracks. Snuffy suggests doing something fast, as he's allergic to cow hair. Big Bird tries asking the cow to move, but the cow just moos. He tries talking in "Moo" language to her, but still to no avail. Just when he gives up, Snuffy delivers a strong sneeze, blowing the cow away from the tracks and onto Gordon! The cow's owner (Stephanie D'Abruzzo) shows up, looking for her bovine Mary Elizabeth, and leaves with her.
