SCENE 1 Elizabeth welcomes the viewer to Sesame Street, which she loves, and then introduces her kitten Sparkles, whom she also loves. She goes on and on about how much she loves him, and soon notices that Sparkles has wandered away. Where is he?

SCENE 2 Telly and Baby Bear introduce the letter of the day, K. They list as many K words as they can think of, when Sparkles shows up and distracts them. It takes Telly awhile to figure out that kitten begins with K, but he finally does. Telly and Baby Bear leave to get ready for drawing time, but don't notice Sparkles following them.
Meanwhile, Elizabeth searches for her lost kitten.
Cartoon A story of a cat who hated rain, wished for it to stop, and witnessed the disastrous effects of no rain.

SCENE 3 Telly and Baby Bear have gathered their canvases and crayons. Soon, they are approached by the cute little kitten they met before, and they decide to draw him. They draw his eyes, his nose, his ears, his mouth, and his whiskers, and show the pictures to him. Before long, they find that they really like this kitten, and want to keep him. They toss around a few ideas of what to name him, unaware that he already has a name.

SCENE 5 Telly and Baby Bear come up with a name for their kitten: Little Murray. They talk about what they'll have to do to take care of Little Murray, including feeding him, and making sure he gets exercise. They take Little Murray over to Hooper's for something to eat.

SCENE 8 Alan gives Little Murray a bowl of cat food to eat, and thinks that maybe this well-taken-care-of kitten belongs to someone. Baby Bear doubts it, but when they see Elizabeth's sign, they realize that Alan was right - this kitten does belong to someone. Telly doesn't want to part with the kitten, but Baby Bear tells him to look at it from Elizabeth's perspective - she doesn't want to part with her kitten, either. They agree to do the right thing.

SCENE 9 Telly and Baby Bear approach a very sad Elizabeth, who becomes happy when she sees her Sparkles! Elizabeth notices that Sparkles likes it when Telly and Baby Bear are around, and she allows them to be his "uncles" and play with him whenever they want. They still have a habit of calling him "Little Murray," so Elizabeth decides that his full name will be "Little Murray Sparkles."

SCENE 10 Elizabeth and Little Murray Sparkles announce the sponsors. Telly and Baby Bear think that's one smart kitten!


Picture Segment Description
Muppets Ernie & BertErnie brings a surprise home, and he tells Bert to guess what it is. The surprise turns out to be a puppy. Bert wants to call the puppy "Norman"; Ernie suggests "Godzilla the Wonder-Dog".
