SCENE 1 Big Bird welcomes the viewer and meets with two kids who are both bringing something for show-and-tell day at their school - Megan has some origami art and Patrick has a backscratcher. Big Bird tells Miles and Gabi what he just saw, and they explain how show-and-tell works. He becomes inspired...

SCENE 2 Big Bird proposes his idea of having their own show-and-tell on Sesame Street to Telly and Rosita. They agree it's a good idea, but Telly says they have to plan all the details about it first - where it will be, when to do it, who else to invite, who will show their thing first, should there be a microphone, etc.

SCENE 4 Gina and Telly are the first to arrive for the show-and-tell. Telly shows Gina the triangle he plans to present, but since Gina already knows about them he thinks it won't be as interesting as the other stuff that will be shown and told about today. He reveals he's brought a large box full of potential show-and-tell items, finding that a pencil sharpener also isn't special enough to talk about. He discovers a strange-looking contraption that Gina is fascinated by, but neither of them can identify its use so he rules that out as well.

SCENE 5 The show-and-tell is about to begin and everyone feels ready for it, except for Telly who is still trying to find something to talk about. Rosita displays her one-monster orchestra, which she wears and plays. Following her performance of "La Cucaracha," Telly doesn't feel like showing his alarm clock that plays "Mary Had a Little Lamb" and looks in his box for something else.
Animation A string quartet tunes up before it plays "Mary Had a Little Lamb."

SCENE 6 Next it's Big Bird's turn, and he displays the shell of the very large egg he hatched out of and has the others guess why it's so special. He explains to Zoe that he was a lot smaller back then and could only say "peep peep," but eventually he grew bigger and bigger to the bird he is today.

Telly keeps looking in his box for something to show and digs up a toy dinosaur with airplane parts glued to it - either it's a "dino-plane" or an "aero-saur." He assumes everyone probably has one of those, so he looks some more.

SCENE 7 Gina displays her Sesame Street Library card, as well as the items she borrowed with it today - a copy of War and Peace, a CD, and a VHS tape. Everyone is impressed, but Baby Bear feels distressed because he was going to show his brand-new library card. Rosita points out that both library cards are different, and thus worth showing and telling about. Baby Bear goes into details about the books he borrowed, while Telly continues to look inside his box.

SCENE 8 Zoe displays her potted geranium, which she grew all by herself from a seed. She goes into detail about the growing process, and how she would water and sing to it.

Now it's Telly's turn, only he still doesn't think he has anything as interesting to show and tell about. He wants to go home and sit in his big comfy rocking chair, which Big Bird expresses interest in seeing. Telly has a realization and runs home.

SCENE 9 Telly comes back from home, carrying his big colorful wooden rocking chair. He mentions the things he can do while sitting in it, such as reading, thinking, listening to the radio, just being quiet - and, of course, rocking. Everyone asks for a turn to sit in the chair, and Telly gives them permission. Baby Bear enjoys sitting in the chair first, especially since Goldilocks isn't around.

  • The graphic on the VHS Gina shows during scene 7 is the duck-billed dinosaur originally made for the counting sequence in Elmo's World: Babies.
