Picture Segment Description

SCENE 1 Big Bird is walking down the Street, saying hi to everyone he meets. He passes by Elmo and Telly, who are sitting on the steps of 123 Sesame Street. When he leaves, Elmo and Telly both started to chant “Story!” together and then Baby Bear comes by chanting too. They notice the viewer and welcomes them as Baby Bear introduce today's sponsors. Telly mentions that the reason why he, Elmo, and Baby Bear are chanting story is because they are going to take turns at telling a story together that Maria has taught them. However, they find it more fun swaying back and forth while chanting “Story!” over again.

The order goes that Elmo will tell the beginning, Telly will tell the middle, and Baby Bear will tell the end of the story. At first, Baby Bear doesn’t want to tell the end because he would have to wait a long time for his turn to come up, but Elmo and Telly tell him that the end of the story is the most important part. After hearing that, Baby Bear feels better and decides to join in.

SCENE 3 Back on the street, Elmo starts to tell the beginning of the story. The story starts off in the Kingdom of Friend where everyone is sad because they are no number 17s around. The reason there are no number 17s is because a dragon has taken it. Suddenly Sir Elmotine appears and says that he would bring back the number 17 from the dragon so everyone can be happy again.
The story sounds exciting that Baby Bear wants to know what will happen. Now it is Telly’s turn to tell the story. To help him think, Telly suggests they watch some films on the number 17 and point to the next segment…

Suddenly Sir Cowboy Telly arrives on his pogo stick and offers his help to Sir Elmotine to find where the dragon lives. After a few steps, Sir Elmotine and Sir Cowboy Telly arrive at the dragon’s cave. At that moment, the dragon comes out and roars at them. They all look at each other and then the dragon starts to open his mouth…
Telly suddenly ends the middle story from there. Now it is Baby Bear’s turn to end the story, but he needs a second to think up the best ending ever.

SCENE 7 Elmo and Telly are still waiting for Baby Bear and wondering when he is going to arrive. Just then, Maria comes out from 123 Sesame Street and says hi to Elmo and Telly, who are startled when they hear her. She asks what is wrong with them and Elmo and Telly explain to her that they are waiting for Baby Bear to tell them the end of their story. Suddenly, Elmo tells Telly that they could both make up their own ending to their story. While Maria thought it is better to wait till Baby Bear comes back, Telly likes Elmo’s idea and tells Elmo to go first. Elmo’s ending was that Sir Cowboy Telly got scared and ran off while Sir Elmotine gets the number 17. Telly’s ending was that Sir Elmotine went home to take a nap and the dragon likes Sir Cowboy Telly’s hat that he gave the number 17 to him. They both ask Maria which ending she liked best and Maria doesn’t know how to tell them. At that moment, Baby Bear comes back and Elmo, Telly, and Maria are happy to see him. Now, Baby Bear can tell his ending to the story.
Sir Elmo and Sir Cowboy Telly are scared of the dragon until they realize he is a handsome dragon. The dragon (Baby Bear playing the role now) asks why they disturbed him from his slumber and Sir Elmotine said that the Kingdom of Friend is sad because the dragon took their number 17. Sir Elmotine asks the dragon if he can return it back and Sir Cowboy Telly says please. The dragon is happy because no one has ever asked him nicely and he returned the number 17 to them. Everyone in the Kingdom of Friends are happy and they all have popcorn, ice cream, and porridge.
Elmo and Telly are impressed at how the story ends and thought it was worth waiting for. Baby Bear said that he had fun telling it to them. Then Elmo goes off to feed Dorothy, while Telly tells Baby Bear about his favorite part of the popcorn, ice cream, and porridge.

SCENE 8 Maria is glad that they all had a good time telling their story. She also mentions that there is something else that Elmo, Telly, and Baby Bear can say which has a beginning, a middle, and an end. After knowing what it is, they all divide up on who is going to announce each part of the sponsors. Elmo announces the letter of the day, Telly announces the number of the day, and Baby Bear announces the production. The group waves good-bye as a full credit follows.
