SCENE 1 Grundgetta arrives at Oscar's trash can, just as Maria passes by. Oscar is just waking up and Maria says to him, "Buenos dias." Half-asleep, Oscar repeats it back to her. Grundgetta is shocked and tells him what's he done. She wants to go to the dump, but Oscar doesn't want to leave until he rectifies things by wishing Maria a rotten morning in English and Spanish. Grundgetta likes the idea, but neither know how to say "Have a rotten morning" in Spanish.
