Picture Segment Description

SCENE 1 Elmo welcomes the viewer to Sesame Street, and follows his ears over to the Fix-It Shop, where Maria and Luis are teaching Gabi and Miles how to dance to salsa music. Elmo learns that there's going to be a dance party tonight, so he wants to know how to salsa dance as well. They show him how, and he gives it a shot.
SCENE 2 Later, from practicing, Elmo has become so good at salsa dancing that he can do it while talking at the same time (almost). Elmo then learns that he needs a partner, but both Maria and Gabi are taken, so Elmo makes it his goal to find a partner ...
SCENE 3 Elmo searches for a partner to salsa dance with, and meets a letter E, who seems like a good candidate for his partner. The E likes to dance in a specific way - "E-E-E" instead of "1-2-3." Unfortunately, the E already has plans to go to a "salsa-bet" party with the rest of the alphabet. Elmo goes on his way, continuing to practice dancing ...
SCENE 4 Rosita greets the viewer in the courtyard, where everyone is setting up for the salsa party. Elmo runs into her, and finds that she knows another way to salsa dance. He has fun dancing her way, and asks her to be his partner, but she already has a partner, Daniel. Elmo searches on as he practices dancing with the viewer ...

SCENE 5 Oscar holds a Grouchketeer meeting (along with Slimey and Glo Worm), when Elmo dances into view. He shows Oscar the step he just made up, and asks Oscar to be his partner, but of course, Oscar declines, and continues to make noise with the Grouchketeers. Elmo cues in some background salsa music, which the Grouchketeers can clang their pots along to. Slimey tells Oscar that he and Glo want to go to the salsa party now, and the Grouchketeers follow them, which disappoints Oscar. Elmo still needs a partner ...

SCENE 6 It's nighttime, and the salsa party is in full swing! Elmo looks on at all the dancers, and asks everyone he meets if they'd like to be his partner (Maria reminds him that they'll still do one dance together later on). Elmo still has no luck finding a salsa partner (not even when he asks a chicken). Elmo then realizes that he can ask the viewer to be his partner, since they both practiced together. Elmo goes over all the steps he did before, and joins the party, introducing everybody to the viewer. Elmo and the viewer have fun dancing at the salsa party!
