SCENE 1 | Big Bird, Alan, and Snuffy are gathered in the yard to make "Snuffle-lemonade." It's lemonade made for Snuffleupaguses, only the process of making it is a bit different than the usual manner. The contents (an entire bowl of sugar and the juice from 40 lemons) are put into a large bucket of water, but Alan's mixing spoon is too small to combine them. Snuffy explains that boat oars are used to mix the lemonade, and Eliza and Joey arrive with them. They sing a simple song about making the lemonade to the tune of "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" until it is ready. Alan assumes it is for lots of Snuffleupaguses, but Snuffy corrects him: this is only one Snuffle-serving, slurping down the entire bucket and asking for another! |
