Picture Segment Description

SCENE 1 Elmo welcomes the viewer and displays his sparkly letter S. The Amazing Mumford comes by and wants to show off his new magic wand, the Disappearatron X-38, which can make anything disappear. He makes Elmo's S vanish, but struggles to make it re-appear. He consults the instruction booklet.

SCENE 2 Alan shows Elmo something unusual: the letter S on his "soup" sign keeps disappearing. Gina points out the Ss on the street sign are gone, as well is the S in "Snuffy" as Big Bird tries writing it. Mumford has made all the Ss on Sesame Street disappear!

SCENE 4 Elmo looks in Oscar's trash can, but there aren't any Ss inside. Slimey helps out by forming himself into an S, then disappears. Oscar begins to worry, when the wand sings another clue: the letters are in a rectangle-shaped box.
Song Jerry Nelson sings "The Inside Story" over film footage which shows the insides of ordinary household items. (new sound effects added)

SCENE 5 As a customer orders some "oup" at Hooper'_ _tore, Elmo and Oscar relay the clues to Alan. He looks in a couple of boxes they have, but finds nothing and adds it could take a while to look through all the boxes they have. Mumford's wand sings another clue: the box is under a plant, so they all head to the garden.

SCENE 6 They all reach the garden, where Stinky the Stinkweed notices the missing S on his flower pot. They realize he's a plant with a rectangle box underneath. They open the box and all the Ss (and Slimey) are released. The wand sings about how now's the time for Elmo's World, but Elmo expects some more singing from her. "What am I? Britney Spears?," the wand quips, "A la Elmo's World!"
