- This episode was Kermit's last new appearance on Sesame Street until 2009 when he made a special cameo appearance in Elmo's World: Frogs.
- This and the next four episodes were edited together into the DVD release Friends to the Rescue. These episodes have also been rerun on PBS in 2004 (in the wake of that year's Atlantic hurricane season, where four hurricanes devastated Florida) and again in September 2005 after Hurricane Katrina ravaged the Gulf Coast.
- The street scenes from this episode were also released to SesameStreet's YouTube Channel on October 26, 2012; a few days before Hurricane Sandy hit the East Coast.
- A hurricane previously hit the street in Episode 2821.
