SCENE 2 Maria waits in the yard as Elmo finishes writing and illustrating a book. Once it's done, he has Maria turn the pages as he reads the story, titled "Elmo Rides a Spaceship to Somewhere in Space."

SCENE 2 cont'd In the story, Elmo rides a spaceship and arrives on a planet with two suns and purple trees with multicolored leaves. He meets a noisy elephant who coincidentally looks and sounds a lot like him and asks about the name of the planet he's on. The elephant doesn't know and suggests he go see the Wise Beaver. Elmo looks and looks until he finally finds the Wise Beaver gnawing on a log; Maria observes that the beaver also happens to look very much like Elmo. The Wise Beaver doesn't know the name of the planet either and suggests Elmo look for the Wise Pufferfish.

SCENE 2 cont'd While searching for the Wise Pufferfish, Elmo encounters a flamenco-dancing flamingo that yet again bears a striking resemblance to himself. The two dance together briefly before Elmo continues his quest.

SCENE 2 cont'd Elmo finally finds the Wise Pufferfish (he looks and sounds like Elmo too), who gets puffy to demonstrate how he got his name. He then tells Elmo the name of the planet: "Zucchini!" The Wise Pufferfish deflates himself, blowing Elmo off the planet Zucchini and all the way back to Sesame Street.
SCENE 2 cont'd Maria thanks Elmo for the story but has to get back to work, even though Elmo wants to read her his story again. Luckily Alan happens by and Elmo gets to read his story to him as Alan turns the pages.
