SCENE 2 | Big Bird encounters a delivery man (Martin P. Robinson) with many boxes, suitcases, and furniture; he's looking for 456 Sesame Street and says someone is moving into the neighborhood. Excitedly, Big Bird runs to tell Maria in the Mail It Shop, where he meets Mrs. Rosen (played on-screen by Fran Brill) and her daughter Emily. Emily talks briefly about her condition and how she uses leg braces and a walker to help her get around. She leaves with Big Bird for a tour around the street, and Big Bird is surprised by how quickly Emily can run. |

SCENE 2 cont'd | Big Bird catches up with Emily, who meets Telly as he goes through his triangle collection. Emily is surprised to learn that monsters live on Sesame Street, but is delighted to learn that Telly is a fellow triangle lover. She's even a card-carrying member of the Triangle Lovers Club and has triangles decorated on her walker! They do the official cheer and Emily offers to show Telly her triangle collection when they are unpacked. "Gee, this looks like the beginning of a beautiful triangular friendship," Big Bird observes. |

SCENE 2 cont'd | After playing for a bit, Telly's mom calls for him to come home and Emily helps him pack up his triangles. Mrs. Rosen brings Emily her pet goldfish Arnold, who makes fast friends with Dorothy and Elmo as she and Elmo both like talking to their pets. Big Bird notices that Dorothy and Arnold's fishbowls are almost identical - how will they tell them apart? Emily and Elmo aren't worried; they claim that their fish let them know who's who. |

SCENE 2 cont'd | Later, Emily says her legs are getting tired so her mother helps get her into her wheelchair. They make a visit to Big Bird's nest, where Big Bird tells her about the big hurricane that blew his old nest away last year. He then takes her to meet Oscar, who of course isn't wild about meeting another new happy face on the street. Emily says that she gets grouchy too, and Oscar sees that she's not so bad after all. |
