| SCENE 1 | Big Bird does the "looking-at-everybody-sideways bird call" to welcome the viewer and ring in National Bird Day. He then joins Luis, Emily, Harris, Aubrey, and Kayla in the yard to play an animal guessing game. They each take a turn pretending to be an animal and the others have to guess what it is. Big Bird goes last and pretends to be a little bluebird in honor of today's holiday. Following the game, several monsters swing into frame chanting, "Monster Time! Monster Time!" | |

SCENE 2 | Big Bird can hardly wait for the rest of the birds to arrive on Sesame Street to celebrate National Bird Day with him. He tells Gordon how the festivities usually go, when birds gather to sing and dance and have a parade together, greeting each other with a "Happy Bird Day!" Big Bird doesn't see any other birds on the street, just some Honkers, a Dinger, and a couple of monsters being chased by an elephant. Even though Gordon isn't a fellow bird, he pretends to be one as he and Big Bird sing the "National Bird Day Song." |

SCENE 2 cont'd | Gordon can't stay for the National Bird Dance, and Big Bird is discouraged at the lack of birds as he sees other animals walking down the street. Someone hears his cry for help from above... and crash lands; it's Super Grover! Big Bird tells Super Grover of his woes, and he suggests Gordon pretend to be a bird. He starts calling him over (at one point yelling, "Hey, baldy!") but Big Bird convinces Super Grover to do the "National Bird Dance" with him. It doesn't attract any more birds to join in and Big Bird goes looking for them, while a passing cow finds herself getting into the spirit of the song with Super Grover. |

SCENE 2 cont'd | Big Bird still hasn't found any birds (just some more kids and a passing cactus). Snuffy arrives and Big Bird tells him about how he can't have the National Bird Parade all by himself. Snuffy gets an idea and gathers a bunch of kids who all dress up and pretend to be birds for the purposes of parading! The kids march in a circle playing instruments to "Be Kind to Your Web-Footed Friends" and Big Bird joins them. |
| SCENE 2 cont'd | Big Bird feels better, but is still a bit dismayed and wonders why no other birds have shown up to celebrate yet. Snuffy suggests he try some bird calls to summon the others and Big Bird does so. Suddenly, the street fills with penguins, chickens and birds of all kinds. When Big Bird asks what the deal is, one small pink bird informs him that National Bird Day is tomorrow, not today! However, since they're already together they agree to start the celebration early with Big Bird and sing the "National Bird Day Song." | |
