Picture Segment Description
SCENE 1 Cookie Monster welcomes the viewer while singing about the "yummyful" day he thinks he'll have. He spots some cookies nearby and gravitates toward them.

SCENE 1 cont'd Cookie comes to Gordon and Sidney, who are using some cookies for a game of "Guess What's Next." They run out cookies and head to Hooper's Store to get some more, telling Cookie Monster not to eat their patterns while they're gone. Cookie doesn't notice a mysterious, furry hand swipe all the cookies away. Gordon returns and sees all the cookies gone, then blames Cookie Monster for eating them. Cookie claims he's innocent, but they don't believe him. He smells cookies somewhere else and follows the scent.
SCENE 1 cont'd Cookie winds up in Big Bird's nest area, where Big Bird and Snuffy prevent him from eating their cookies; they're using them to make shapes. While the two debate over what shape to make, the cookies are stolen again. They blame Cookie Monster and go to Snuffy's cave to play with cabbage cookies. "Me falsely accused!," Cookie cries, when he catches the whiff of more cookies.

SCENE 1 cont'd Cookie finds his way to the Mail It Shop, where Maria is sending cookies to her Aunt Rosa in Puerto Rico. She permits Cookie to have one cookie and promises to bake him a batch tomorrow. She looks for a box to ship it in and neither of them notice the same furry hands taking her cookie tin. She also assumes Cookie Monster ate the cookies (including the tin) and forgives him anyway. Cookie Monster walks off hurt.

SCENE 1 cont'd Everyone finds Cookie Monster sulking over his day and they tell him they naturally thought he ate all their cookies; he's a Cookie Monster after all. "Me glutton, not liar," he tells them and insists he didn't eat anyone's cookies. They all see the error of their ways and apologize. But if he didn't take the cookies, then who did? Suddenly, a fanfare signals the arrival of Cookie Hood and his horse, Marian. He tells them he takes cookies from those with a surplus and gives to the cookie-less, producing Maria's tin of cookies to give away. They tell him that he's been stealing and he realizes that's not right. He returns Maria's cookies, but doesn't hasn't a crumb to give to Cookie Monster. He has just been given his allowance and treats Cookie Monster to some cookies at Hooper's Store as they sing a reprise of "A Yummyful Day." Marian hopes they have broccoli; she can't stand cookies.
