SCENE 1 | Maria greets the viewer, when Super Grover rushes over to see if his new cape has been delivered. He relates the struggles his current cape has, which is worn out and hardly keeps him in the sky. Maria tells him the delivery is scheduled for Thursday, unfortunately. Grover hears someone in need of his help and flies off as best he can.
SCENE 1 cont'd | Super Grover soars through the sky, when his cape begins acting up and starts to slow down ("Get a horse!" calls a passing bird, performed by Joey Mazzarino). Suddenly, Super Grover plummets to the Earth below. Maria offers to sew up the holes in his cape, but Grover officially declares it an "ex-cape." He makes an attempt to fly without it, to no success. He recruits Big Bird, Zoe and the kids as his super helpers to find an alternative.
SCENE 1 cont'd | First, Big Bird gives Grover his extra large bedsheet, which proves much too big to fly with. Zoe's washcloth also turns out to be too small. She also gives him a bath towel, which is just the right size. Grover cites that the picture of a duck on it is a good sign. He takes off and gets a little air, but not enough to fly into the sky.
SCENE 1 | Grover rests on the back of Margret (Stephanie D'Abruzzo), a chicken, believing she can take him to the sky. Big Bird and Margret point out that chickens are unable to fly (though Margret claims to have flown 10 feet once). She also believes a cannon might help and Grover decides to call his pal the Great Fentini, the human cannonball.
SCENE 1 cont'd | A small crowd gathers as Grover is blasted into the sky from Fentini's cannon, but the towel falls off in mid-flight, sending Grover plummeting back to the ground. Maria, fed up, gives a call to Marty's Cape City, who tells her the cape is ready now and it's sent via air mail (and drops with a parachute).
SCENE 1 cont'd | Grover puts on his new cape with glee ("I love that new cape smell."). He thanks everyone who helped (even the Academy) and attempts to take off, but has some trouble. Everyone blows some air to help propel him into the sky, right where he belongs.
