COLD OPEN | My Favorite Sesame Street Moments: James Earl Jones reminisces about telling Matt Robinson that the monster Muppets would not work because they would terrify children. A clip from "C is for Cookie" is shown. He chuckles, "What did I know?"
SCENE | Elmo has a playdate planned with Gabi just before she opens up Hooper's Store. Zoe comes by and asks if she can play with them. Elmo cheerfully accepts, not knowing that Zoe has brought along Rocco, who wants to play too. Gabi supposes "How much trouble could a little rock be?", so Elmo begrudgingly allows Rocco to play.
SCENE cont'd | First, Elmo wants to say the alphabet, but Zoe says that Rocco wants to jump instead. In fairness to both parties, they initially decide to take turns, but this creates an argument between Elmo and Zoe over what to do first. Gabi suggests that they do both at the same time, so they all jump and chant each letter of the alphabet.
SCENE cont'd | Looking for something to do next, they notice Big Bird pushing Melissa on the tire swing. The group heads over to the yard, and Big Bird and Melissa gladly let them share the tire swing. Zoe's up first, and Gabi sings the "Swinging Singing Song" while she pushes her.
SCENE cont'd | Elmo wants to go next, but Zoe notes that Rocco's ahead of him in line. Elmo asserts that Rocco's just a rock and shouldn't get a turn, but Zoe and Big Bird feel that it still wouldn't be fair to skip Rocco. Elmo reluctantly lets Rocco go on the swing next, knowing that he'll be able to go after. However, once it is Elmo's turn, Zoe says that Rocco wants to keep swinging. Gabi explains that it wouldn't be fair to have Elmo keep waiting.
SCENE cont'd | Just then, Gabi's watch rings, alerting her that she needs to get to work soon. Elmo is sad that this means Gabi won't have a turn on the swing, so he offers to share his turn with her. Zoe and Rocco agree to help sing the "Swinging Singing Song" while Gabi and Elmo swing together.
SCENE cont'd | Continuing their playdate, Elmo and Zoe (and Rocco) follow Gabi as she opens Hooper's Store. Gabi treats each of them to a cookie. Rocco gets an oatmeal raisin cookie, which Elmo says is his favorite. Elmo asks for an oatmeal raisin cookie, but it turns out Gabi had given Rocco the last one. Elmo tries to take it, but Zoe insists that Rocco wants to eat it.
SCENE cont'd | Elmo becomes upset that Zoe wants to give his favorite cookie to a rock. Zoe, however, feels Elmo isn't being fair to Rocco, but Gabi points out that Elmo has been fair to Rocco all day. She tells Zoe that while it's fun to pretend, Rocco isn't really alive and can't eat or breathe, unlike Elmo who can get hungry and has feelings. Zoe understands and says that Rocco wants to give Elmo the oatmeal raisin cookie. Elmo thanks Zoe, and Rocco, for the cookie.
