COLD OPEN | Healthy Moment: Grover asks Ken Jennings to name something that is sweet and full of vitamins. In the form of a question, Jennings answered, "What is a fruit?" and got it correct. His prize is a pineapple. cut from the online version
SCENE cont'd |
Elmo and Zoe are jumping rope, which has made them very hungry. They hear a mysterious voice, which turns out to be Mr. Healthy Food, the host of "The Healthy Food Game." To play the game, Zoe and Elmo have to find four healthy foods in four different colors before the mouse climbs to the top of the refrigerator and plays the grand piano.
SCENE cont'd |
Zoe and Elmo are ready to play. The color wheel spins and lands on the color red. As the mouse starts his trek up the refrigerator, Elmo and Zoe walk over to the fruit stand at Hooper's Store to find something red.
SCENE cont'd |
Zoe and Elmo decide to look for apples, since apples are red, but they're only able to find green apples. Luis comes by looking for red peppers to cook his special fajitas. Elmo and Zoe follow Luis to the vegetables section and find the red peppers.
SCENE cont'd |
Mr. Healthy Food appears to declare that they've found their first healthy colorful food and need three more. Meanwhile, the mouse is part way through his climb. Their next color on the color wheel is white.
SCENE cont'd |
Elmo and Zoe rush over to Gina, who is just about to have lunch. They check to see if she has any healthy white food, but her lunch is a sandwich with (brown) pumpernickel bread, (pink) bologna, and (yellow) mustard. Old MacDonald overhears the monsters' distress and milks Gladys the Cow to give them a glass of nutritious, and white, milk.
SCENE cont'd |
Mr. Healthy Food pops up again to announce that they've now found two healthy foods, but reminds them that the mouse is inching closer to the top of the refrigerator. The color wheel spins to green. Gladys decides to join Zoe and Elmo and suggests that they check the garden for something green.
SCENE cont'd |
In the garden, Susan and Bianca offer the group some zucchini seeds, but as time is running out, they need food that's already green. Susan points to some freshly grown lettuce. Mr. Healthy Food appears again, counting three healthy foods that they've found. But now, the mouse has reached the top of the refrigerator and is about to play the piano. The color wheel lands on purple, so Elmo, Zoe and Gladys quickly search for purple food.
SCENE cont'd |
The group ponders what foods are purple when Big Bird asks them to move back so Snuffy can bring a giant eggplant to his cave (his mom is cooking "Eggplant Parmalupagus", an Italian-Hawaiian dish). Just as the mouse prepares to play the piano, Elmo, Zoe and Gladys realize that Snuffy's giant eggplant is purple, which helps them win the game.
SCENE cont'd |
Mr. Healthy Food pops up once more to announce their win and present their fabulous prize: all of the healthy foods they found. He signs off with "Live long and eat colorful." Snuffy suggests that they bring all of the food home so they can make a picnic lunch. A very hungry Elmo agrees, and they all try to heave the giant eggplant.
