At Hooper's Store, Alan is busily getting school supplies for Baby Bear, when Telly notices the viewer and is glad that they are here. Today is Baby Bear’s first of school at the Storybook Community School, a school for storybook characters to begin their education career. Just then, Papa Bear arrived to pick up Baby Bear and they both went on their way as Alan wished him luck. | ||
At the Storybook Community School, the other storybook characters started to arrived when Baby Bear and Papa Bear got to the school. Baby Bear started to recognize some of the storybook characters including Hansel and Gretel, Jack and Jill, Little Red Riding Hood, and Mary with her lamb. As the bell rings and the storybook characters started to enter the school, Papa Bear said it is time for him to say good-bye to Baby Bear. Baby Bear is shocked that Papa Bear was going to go, but he said he was going to have fun at the school. So they both hug and Papa Bear said he would pick him up after school. | ||
Inside the school, Mrs. Goose introduce herself and have the storybook characters introduce themselves. First to introduce was Peter Piper, then Jack and Jill, and next was Baby Bear’s turn. After mention to everyone that his family are now the four bears since Curly Bear was born and is at home, Baby Bear started to miss his family. Then Hansel and Gretel introduce themselves and shower everyone with breadcrumbs. Baby Bear was having fun and think Curly Bear would love to see it, but then he started to think if she missed him. | ||
Later in class, Mrs. Goose mentions everyday, they will learn a letter from the Alphabet and she has them guess what letter begins at the Alphabet. Baby Bear replied that it is the letter A and Mrs. Goose said that he is correct. She says that it is used to begin a story as in "Once upon a time." Baby Bear is happy that he got his first answer correct, but then he starts to wonder if Papa Bear missed him. | ||
Back in class, Mrs. Goose mentions everyday they will also learn a number and have them guess what number starts at the beginning. Little Red Riding Hood replied that it is the number 1 and also called Mrs. Goose as grandma. Mrs. Goose replies that she is correct and Jack also replied that it starts as in "Once upon a time.” Everyone laughed and Jack laugh so hard, he fell backwards and broke his crown. Then Mrs. Goose says they are going to create their own number 1 as their art project and can decorate it with glitter and any color. Baby Bear is happy because he loves art. After mention how Mama Bear loves glitter, he wonders if she missed him. | ||
After finishing their art projects, the storybook characters started working on their Humpty Dumpty puzzles and tried to put him back together. Just then, Baby Bear puts the final piece together and happily reply that he did it. Everyone was impressed at how Baby Bear finish the puzzle and Baby Bear wished that his family were there to see this. Then he started to think of his family again and wonders what they are doing. He starts to think that going to school would be hard on them. | ||
As the school ended and Mrs. Goose says good-bye to the storybook characters, Papa Bear arrived to pick up Baby Bear. When Mrs. Goose tells Baby Bear that she will see him tomorrow, Baby Bear replies that he may not come tomorrow. Although he loves the things he did today and made new friends, he couldn’t help thinking about his family. Papa Bear and Mrs. Goose tells him its ok since it is his first of school. Mrs. Goose mentions that she was Papa Bear’s teacher and he was also afraid when he was little. Papa Bear also tells Baby Bear to just think about the time they get to see each other again at the end of the day, and how he will tell his family about all the great things he did in school. | ||
Baby Bear feels much better and decides he will come back tomorrow for class when Ms. Goose says they will learn about the number 2 in pom-poms. As Mrs. Goose waves good-bye to Baby Bear and Papa Bear, Jack came running out and fell down again with Jill tumbling after him. | ||
