SCENE 1 Big Bird welcomes the viewer to Sesame Street. He says we are just in time for Mumford's magic tricks. A group of people (including Stephanie D'Abruzzo and Noel MacNeal) has already gathered around.
SCENE 1 , cont'd At that moment, Alan, Gordon and a little girl arrive. The little girl tells Big Bird that she can't see in front of him because he is big. Alan tells Big Bird to move to the back, so they will be in the front.

SCENE 1, cont'd Mumford announces to everyone that he is going to perform his new magic trick, the "big and little" trick. Using the big letter, M, he is going to make it little. With the wave of Mumford's wand and the magic words, "A la peanut butter sandwiches!", a flash of light appears, but the M still remains big. Mumford believes he needs more practice and goes off, saying his magic words.
SCENE 1, cont'd At that moment, Gordon notices that Big Bird is gone. Alan thinks that Big Bird must have gone to his play date with Snuffy. They both decide not to worry about him and go back to their chess game.
SCENE 1, cont'd As everyone leaves, Big Bird's voice is heard around the steps of 123 Sesame Street and it turns out that he has become little. Small things look big to him, such as a paper clip and a leaf. Soon, Big Bird finds out that he has become little, but he wonders, how did that happen?
SCENE, cont'd Suddenly, Big Bird remembers that Mumford was performing his big and little trick and made him little instead of the letter M.
SCENE 1, cont'd Just then, an ant comes by and notices Big Bird. The ant remembers Big Bird because of how big his feet were at first, but now the ant is able to see Big Bird at his own size. Big Bird explains to him what happened and then asks if he is new in the neighborhood, since he has never met an ant before. The ant explains that people that are big never notice small people like him. He then goes off to bring a bread crumb to his ant colony.
SCENE 1, cont'd Big Bird feels great that he is seeing a new point of view from being little. He sings "So Many Things a Little Bird Can Do."

SCENE 1, cont'd Suddenly, Snuffy has arrived for his play date with Big Bird. Big Bird tries to call to him, but Snuffy cannot hear him since Big Bird is little and has a quiet voice. Snuffy goes off to look for Big Bird.

SCENE 1, cont'd Big Bird doesn't like being little anymore and wishes to be big again. His only hope is to find Mumford and make him big again. At that moment, Big Bird spots Alan and Gordon playing chess near Hooper's Store and calls to them, but they cannot hear him. Big Bird plans to get closer to Alan and Gordon, hoping they can help him find Mumford. He embarks on his journey toward Hooper's store.
