COLD OPEN "What's the Word on the Street?" -- frustrated
SCENE Telly stares in awe at the Triangle Triple Crown, which will be worn for three weeks by the "Triangle Lover of the Day" at today's Triangle Lovers' Club meeting. He loves triangles more than anyone else, so he is sure that he will get crowned, and he invites Baby Bear to the special occasion. Baby Bear is not sure he will fit in with the other Triangle Lovers, since he doesn't call himself one, but Telly reassures him that he'll do fine.
At the gathering, Telly goes over the game plan with Baby Bear: first they'll build a triangle, then they'll sing the Triangle Lovers' Club Anthem, and finally, they'll do the Triangle Cheer.

The Grand High Triangle Lover approaches the podium as his fanfare plays, and Norman announces his presence. The GHTL greets everyone: "May the triangle be with you!" He then asks for a volunteer to build the triangle, and Telly eagerly raises his hand and jumps until he is picked. He attaches the blue and yellow sides to the red base, making a triangle.

Baby Bear then asks the GHTL if they've ever tried building a triangle with the blue side first, then the red and yellow sides. This shocks the other members, but when they see him do it his way, they realize that no matter how you arrange the pieces, they always make a triangle. Everyone cheers for Baby Bear, except Telly.

Next, the GHTL asks for a volunteer to lead them in singing the Triangle Lovers' Anthem. Once again, Telly calls attention to himself until he is chosen. He waves his triangle-pointed baton as they sing the anthem. When it's over, Baby Bear asks if they can change the last line from "You are so poin-ty" to "Forever we love thee." Telly is offended at the thought of changing such a sacred, time-withstanding anthem, but the GHTL loves the change; it brings tears of joy to his eyes as he tries singing it himself. He then decrees that this will be the way they sing the anthem from now on ("Sometimes it's good to shake up your triangles a bit!") and asks Baby Bear to lead them in the new anthem. Telly follows along, reluctantly.

Next, the Triangle Lovers' Cheer is about to commence. By calling attention to himself, Telly is once again granted the honors of leading them. "Triangles here! Triangles there! Triangles, triangles, triangles, yaaaaaay!" Baby Bear gets another wee little inspiration, which Telly objects to at first, but the GHTL is open to hearing it: "You know what we Triangle Lovers say: There's always room for triangle improvement!" Baby Bear suggests they change the cheer to "Triangles here! Triangles there! Triangles, triangles, everywhere!" The GHTL loves it, because it rhymes! He decides it will be the new cheer, and tells Baby Bear to lead everyone in it.

Finally, the Triangle Lover of the Day is about to be crowned. Even though he's been one-upped by Baby Bear three times, Telly still thinks he'll get the crown. However, when it is awarded to Baby Bear, Telly objects: "He's not even a Triangle Lover! He's a porridge lover!!" GHTL remarks that Telly must be proud to have such a Triangle Lover as Baby Bear for a friend. Instead, Telly throws a fit and runs off. Baby Bear has the crown bestowed upon his head, and would like to thank his best friend Telly, but becomes confused when he sees that Telly has left.

Gordon notices Telly mumbling angrily to himself. Baby Bear catches up with him, giving him a chance to point out to Gordon why he's so ... frustrated. Baby Bear is confused; he thought his best friend would be happy for him. Gordon points out that it's normal to be jealous sometimes. Telly confesses that he does like the new Triangle Cheer, and suddenly they're friends again. When they leave, Gordon notices they forgot the crown. Curious, he makes sure no one's watching, puts it on, and tries the Triangle Cheer himself, then resumes reading his paper.
