COLD OPEN | "What's the Word on the Street?" -- practice
SCENE | Gabi encounters Chris and some kids playing with his toy bowling set, which he's had since he was a kid. She asks him if she can try it out, since she's a good bowler herself. Gordon then asks for a turn after Gabi. She gets a strike, and Gordon knocks down two pins.
SCENE cont'd |
Next, it's Elmo's turn. He throws the ball twice, but misses the pins both times. Chris suggests that Elmo practice working on his bowling swing, and invites the kids (and the viewer) to join them.
SCENE cont'd |
Now that Elmo's practiced, he wants to try again. He misses the pins, and becomes upset. He feels like he never wants to bowl again. Chris sings him a song about how it takes time to get good at something by practicing, over a montage (mostly taken from previous Sesame Street films) of kids practicing things.
SCENE cont'd |
Elmo is once again ready to try bowling. Chris suggests he stand closer to the pins this time, which he does. He swings, and hits one pin, which makes him proud. He invites Gordon to practice some more, and Gordon ends up knocking down eight pins!
