COLD OPEN What's the Word on the Street?: Surprise
SCENE Elmo and Zoe are working on their drawings when they hear moaning. The sounds are coming from Stinky the Stinkweed, who’s sprouting a special flower that he grows every year on his birthday. He also states he normally spends his birthdays alone. The two monsters decide to get him some birthday gifts and cheer him up.
SCENE cont'd Elmo comes back and surprises him with a drum and sings a short birthday song to him. However, Stinky is unable to hold the drumsticks to play it and hurts his face when he tries banging the drum with it.
SCENE cont'd Zoe dashes off and comes back with the present of a tutu. She puts it on his pot, but since he is confined to it, he can't use the tutu to dance with.

SCENE cont'd Cookie Monster and Rosita catch word of Stinky’s birthday and go to get him a gift. Rosita comes back with a guitar. But, once again, he has no hands to play it. He tries using his flower, but the sound is horrible. Cookie Monster comes back with a plate of cookies, but Stinky points out plants don’t eat cookies.

SCENE cont'd Big Bird comes by and finds them all sad about their gift choices. He leaves and returns with some balloons. He attaches them to his pot, which lift it up and send him flying around the sky. Chris spots him and fetches a ladder to bring him down. Once down on the ground, Chris points out that they all got him gifts they would use and not what a plant needs. They ask Stinky what he needs. He claims plants need water, sunshine and love.
SCENE cont'd They all set him down on a table that gets plenty of sunshine, water him and sing a song about how much they love him ("Water, Sun, and Love").
Muppets / Celebrity Maggie Gyllenhaal explains the word surprise and is surprised by Elmo, Zoe, Rosita, Grover, Telly and Abby.

Muppets Murray gets us ready for Abby's Flying Fairy School. He then plays "What's on Me That Starts with B?" with the kids.

Muppets / Animation Abby's Flying Fairy School
Today, the class is putting on their Dance Recital. Abby, Blogg, Peck and Niblet are all ready to dance, but Gonnigan claims he can’t dance and won’t do it in front of a crowd. Mrs. Sparklenose poofs him up special “Sugar Plum Fairy Dance Shoes”, which will help him dance. As Gonnigan takes off his shoes the magic shoes begin dancing away. Blogg spots them under Niblet’s table. Gonnigan looks under and knocks the cage over, sending Niblet flying into Gonnigan’s sweater and making him shake around. Abby tries to magically make Gonnigan dance, but she misses each time and makes something in the room dance. Gonnigan then follows the shoes around a block tower, but slips on a piece of lunch. Abby calls on Spot, who shoes them videos of feet. Abby interprets the film, claiming Gonnigan only needs his feet to dance. He ignores her and find the shoes on top of the bookshelf. He knocks it over and gets clay on his head, so he shakes it off. Mrs. Sparklenose reminds him of all the physical things he’s done (wiggling, sliding and shaking) and he makes a dance out of it, which all the other students perform in the recital.
