Oscar points out to them that Slimey is practicing for the Squirmadega Car Race today. Elmo rushes in, decked out in Slimey gear, excited for the race and counting on Slimey to win. Chris sets him up by the front window to watch the race.
SCENE cont'd | In the yard, announcer Jeff Gordon welcomes us to the race and announces the competitors. Among the worms are Dale Wormhart Jr. (in car #1), Kyle Squish in car #2, Juan Mudtoya in car #3, Shawna Wiggleson in car #4 and finally Slimey in car #5.
SCENE cont'd | Before the race begins, Carrie Underworm sings the “Worm Anthem”. Jeff then shows what the race course will be: the worm racers will go over the laundry basket, under the table, around the fire hydrant and through Big Bird’s legs.
SCENE cont'd | As the race begins, the worms go over the laundry basket. Soon, car #1 falls into the basket and is taken out of the race. The worms then drive under the table, where car #2 gets a flat tire. As they drive around the fire hydrant, car #3 loses control and can’t stop going around. As the race comes to a close, Slimey misses Big Bird’s legs and drives into his toes instead (Which tickles Big Bird), and Shawna wins. Elmo is disheartened about Slimey’s loss.
SCENE cont'd | Back inside Hooper's Store, Elmo mopes. However, he and Gordon notice that Slimey is still driving his car around the counter. Oscar tells them that Slimey’s not upset about losing - he did his personal worm best and, with practice, may win the next race.

Once at the top, they discover a giant using Peck as a tiny feather duster. They try to communicate, but they are not heard. They call Spot, who shows them images of ears.
