COLD OPEN | What's the Word on the Street?: Incognito
SCENE | Telly and Elmo welcome the viewer as they work with their "Letter of the Day" kit and make a letter I. Telly knocks the pieces over and they head to Elmo's apartment for glue.
SCENE cont'd | Over at Hooper's Store, Rosita finds Chris playing with Iggy, a dog he's watching. Rosita offers to play with Iggy while Chris goes back to work. Rosita throws a stick away for Iggy to fetch.
SCENE cont'd | Back in the garden, the monsters' letter has been completed and they think of some I words while visualizing them. Iggy then appears and, mistaking the I for the stick, grabs the letter and runs off with it. Elmo and Telly follow.
SCENE cont'd | Rosita wonders where Iggy has gone to and goes to look for him. Iggy then appears, but runs away when Telly and Elmo try to grab him. Telly gets an idea to go incognito (another I word) to get their I and hands Elmo some leaves as a disguise. They see Iggy drop the I to scratch a flea, but the leaves make Elmo's nose itch and cause him to sneeze, blowing their cover. Iggy quickly grabs the I and runs off. They get an idea to do something similar to Iggy...
SCENE cont'd | Meanwhile, Rosita calls out to Iggy while searching the street.
SCENE cont'd | Telly and Elmo sneak up on Iggy, armed with a feather. When Iggy sneezes, he will let go of the I and they can grab it. Elmo tickles his nose and Iggy sneezes as planned, sending the I flying. Telly gets ready to catch it, but then starts fawning over the I sound in "it". Losing focus, Telly is hit with the I instead and Iggy makes off with it. They then think that they can put something in his mouth instead of the I. An ice cream vendor (Matt Vogel) appears on cue. They notice the I on his cart and notice "ice cream" doesn't start with the short I sound and the vendor explains the two I sounds. They get a special doggy ice cream and call out to Iggy. He comes over and takes the ice cream, leaving the I on the crate. Elmo is about to grab it, when Iggy tosses the ice cream away (and onto Telly's head) and runs off with the I.
SCENE cont'd | Iggy finally finds Rosita. Telly and Elmo learn about what's happened with the dog and Chris also learns what's been happening. Telly and Elmo forgive the dog, noticing how cute he is. They also propose that Iggy must have took the I because his name starts with I. Although Chris says he's just a dog, he joins in singing about how incredible Iggy is. Iggy grabs the I and runs off again, with the monsters following behind.
