COLD OPEN | What's the Word on the Street?: Splatter
SCENE | Oscar is displeased with all the happy people out and about today and has a plan to change that: he's going to make a painting so repulsive, everyone will be angry just looking at it ("That's the power of Grouch art."). Abby poofs in to see what's going on and decides to stay to see a Grouch artist at work. He adds come messy strokes of paint and thinks it's sufficient. Chris comes by and is impressed, enjoying the bold strokes he's made, upsetting Oscar. He needs something messier to work with, when he hears a messy sound nearby...
SCENE cont'd | Oscar makes his way to Hooper's Store, where Maria fumbles with an uncooperative squeeze bottle of mustard, which starts working and leaves a giant glob on her sandwich. Oscar is impressed and fills some more bottles with his paint. He adds a few drops on the painting and hopes it'll work now. Leela discovers it and is impressed too, comparing the splats to nice fireworks.
SCENE cont'd | Oscar doesn't understand why people like his painting; Abby thinks it's the pretty colors. Oscar realizes that's the problem; he's needs a Grouchier color. He then spots a splat where two colors mix, forming a Grouchy-green. He combines all his colors to make a new one he calls "Mud Slime Green." He whips up a large glob of it, then brings in Fluffy, who possesses enough force to make a giant splat from it. Fluffy blows the paint onto the canvas, resulting in a giant, messy splat. Oscar and Abby sing a short song about it ("Look I Made a Splat").

Blögg then tries to and Niblet steals his wand. After a chase, he runs into a crayon drawing in the wall. However, they are unable to get inside. Spot shows them videos of doors, which gives them the idea to use a door. After twinkle-thinking, Abby realizes the drawing is Gonnigan’s and he can draw a door on it. Once inside, they try and follow him, but he draws a river between them. Abby draws a pumpkin to get them across, but Gonnigan adds a sail. Once on the river, Niblet re-draws it as the top of a mountain. Gonnigan adds wheels to get down to him, but Niblet draws a second hill, causing them to slide back and forth between them. Niblet escapes the drawing and heads into his Gerblecorn hole. They try opening it with a spell (rhyming “door” with “Zsa Zsa Gabor”), but find out magic can’t open it. They sob at the idea of never seeing Niblet again, which brings him out of his hole. He gives Blögg his wand back and has Gonnigan hold him.
