COLD OPEN | What's the Word on the Street?: Reinforce
SCENE | Elmo and Rosita welcome the viewer as Alan prepares a basket of goodies. They explain that Little Red Riding Hood (or Caperucita Roja as Rosita says) has ordered her usual basker for her granny from Hooper's Store today and will be along any minute to pick it up.
SCENE cont'd | Little Red appears and, seeing as it's called "Hooper's Store," keeps calling Alan "Hooper" (to his chagrin). She makes sure it's correctly filled, then points out it needs to pass "The Big Bad Wolf Test" in order for it to make it safely to granny's without the wolf eating it. Alan lifts the basket and exclaims, "I got a basket of goddies for ya', grandma!" On cue, the Big Bad Wolf appears and munches the basket to smithereens. Little Red offers him some musical advice: "Make That Basket Stronger!"
SCENE cont'd | To keep the basket safe, they must reinforce it with something (as whicker isn't very strong). Rosita pulls out a plate, which is rather hard. Singing Little Red's song, they cover the basket with dishes and refill it. Alan calls for the Big Bad Wolf, who initially struggles to break through the plates, but manages anyway, leaving another mess. Little Red sings her song again, saying they need to hurry before granny leaves for her vacation in Boca Raton.
SCENE cont'd | Needing something hard, but not fragile, Rosita finds a metal pie plate, which they believe will withstand the Wolf's jaws. They cover the basket with more metal plates and when the Wolf appears, he's unable to munch trough them. He escapes, moaning over the pain his teeth are in. Although they've succeeded, Little Red's unable to deliver the basket - it's time for her ballet lesson! Since Hooper's delivers, Alan accepts the offer to bring to granny, but Little Red suits him into a red hood first.
