Releases Monster Manners

Picture Segment Description
COLD OPEN What's the Word on the Street?: Courteous

SCENE Telly and Mando are reading on the stoop, when Johnny Gotcha (Tom Bergeron), of GOTCHA!, appears. He explains he's set up hidden cameras all over Sesame Street, planning to catch people using bad manners. Oscar is quite pleased, as GOTCHA! is his favorite program. Mando and Telly are skeptical he'll be able to find any bad manners and Johnny leads them to their first targets.

SCENE cont'd Out in the arbor, Baby Bear and Curly Bear finish up their porridge, when Johnny surprises them. He sets up the secret footage they've taped, sure there's to be plenty of bad manners in it. However, all the footage shows the two siblings using good table manners, such as asking for items across the table and wiping their mouths on napkins. Oscar is particularly upset and Johnny admits he didn't look at the footage first. He leads them elsewhere, hoping to find some bad manners.

SCENE cont'd They arrive at Big Bird's nest, where Big Bird and Abby are just finishing their playdate. He plays the footage of their playdate, which shows them sharing and taking turn with the toys. Johnny leaves the nest, still hoping bad manners are out on the street somewhere. Oscar is hopeful as well and decides to get some popcorn.

SCENE cont'd Oscar exits Hooper's Store with his snack, when Johnny surprises him. Mando sees that Oscar would be the only one on the street to use bad manners and Johnny is certain the footage will be good...until they replay it. In the playback, they see Oscar saying "please" and "thank you" to Chris when ordering. Johnny has had it and ditches the street. Oscar is completely ashamed and let's another "please" slip out of his mouth, much to his disgust and Mando and Telly's delight.
