This episode is compiled from the ABC Christmas special, Elmo's Christmas Countdown. Replacing the "What's the Word on the Street?" cold opening is the opening sequence to the special, with all the celebrities credits removed. All the commercial break fade-in and outs are also removed. Following the cold open, the regular theme song plays, with added snow effects. The special then resumes as Stiller The Elf introduces himself. Some lines from the original special are also cut.
Following Countdown is a special version of "Elmo's World" about Christmas, heavily editing Elmo's World: Happy Holidays! to just portions of the Christmas segment and mainly Elmo's subplot to find a gift for Dorothy.
