Alan's expecting Peter Piper to deliver the peppers any minute, when Peter shows up playing peek-a-boo instead. Alan sends Telly back to the patch with a basket to collect more.
SCENE cont'd | As Telly collects more pickled peppers, even more customers (including Maria) show up. Outside, Peter returns with a new purpose - pirouetting with a perky pachyderm (Horatio the Elephant). Telly returns, only to be knocked over by Horatio, spilling the peppers once more. Peter runs off to find a new purpose. Then, the Pickled Pepper Lovers Club shows up to the store for lunch. Telly thinks he's not fit to pick so many peppers and he and Alan realize they need Peter more than ever now.
