COLD OPEN | Grover probes baby Emerson for information about babies for today's show.
SCENE | Elmo runs into Baby Bear and Curly Bear on the street. Baby Bear explains that Curly is having issues giving up her pacifier. Elmo understands, having been through the same ordeal. She asks him (the binky muffling her words) how he was able to give it up. Elmo begins to spin his story as a flashback begins...
SCENE cont'd | In the past, Elmo is giving his pacifiers away to Leela so she can give them to her new baby niece. As Elmo places them in the box, he reminisces on how each binky would help him. Back in the present, Baby Bear is inspired and encourages Curly to give up her binky again. Curly refuses and Elmo continues with his story. After Leela leaves, Elmo tries to play other games without his binky, but finds it impossible and goes after her. Before he reaches the door, he steps on a yellow pacifier, which he thought he lost, and begins to suck on it.
SCENE cont'd | In the next part of his story, Elmo goes to Hooper's Store to work out a deal with Chris; he can exchange Yellow Binky for any toy on the shelf. He says goodbye to it as he trades it for a stuffed bunny. Soon after, Elmo starts to miss Yellow Binky and wishes to return the bunny for it. Chris gives him the binky and lets him keep the bunny, for when Elmo is really ready to give it up.
SCENE cont'd | Back in the present, Baby Bear desperately asks - if all the other methods didn't work, what did? Elmo continues...
SCENE cont'd | Elmo has a talk with Gordon about his binky issues. Gordon tells him he could only use it some of the time and pretty soon, he'll be saying "Bye Bye Binky" and doing other big-kid things too.
SCENE cont'd | Elmo and Baby Bear continue singing the song in the present and Curly finally removes her pacifier, ready to give it up. Baby Bear thanks Elmo for his help.
