COLD OPEN Telly Monster informs the viewer that today, they'll be seeing lots of nursery rhymes and nursery rhyme characters. The cow from "Hey Diddle Diddle" attempts to jump over the moon, but crash lands on Telly instead.

SCENE 1 Elmo, Abby, Chris and others attend a special reading by Mother Goose (Kate McKinnon). Telly hosts the proceedings, when Mother Goose arrives with her large, heavy book of nursery rhymes. She recites "Hey Diddle Diddle," as all the characters from the rhyme appear (including the cow, who crashes on Telly again). She then reads "Little Miss Muffet," featuring Miss Muffet and the Spider.

SCENE 1 cont'd As everyone heads to Hooper's Store for some post-show refreshments, Mother Goose, noticing how kind and enthusiastic Elmo has been in the audience, decides to write a new nursery rhyme about him. She tries shoehorning him into already-conceived rhymes, but none seem to work. Elmo walks off, disappointed that he won't get a rhyme of his own. Mother Goose admits she knows nothing about Elmo, thus can't write about him. Abby tells her a few, special things about Elmo and Mother Goose becomes inspired.
