SCENE 1 | Chris and Elmo greet the viewer just in time to celebrate "Dance Your Favorite Dance Day." They see some kids tap dancing and break dancing, while Zoe does some ballet and the Honkers dance the Honker Polka. Chris tells Elmo that Nina is a dance expert and knows every dance from around the world. She demonstrates a salsa, hula, flamenco and tango (with Chris). She even knows Elmo's favorite dance, the Elmo Slide. Chris shows off his favorite kind of dancing - hip-hop. | |
SCENE 1 cont'd | Big Bird and Snuffy wander down the block, trying to think of a dance they can do. Snuffy proposes the "Snuffle-Okey Pokey" and demonstrates it, inadvertently knocking Chris, Nina and Elmo over as he spins himself around. They go off to find a safer dance. | |
SCENE 1 cont'd | Elmo and Nina find Rosita and Telly sobbing outside Hooper's Store. They're watching a video of their favorite dance, the Chicken Dance, and are sad because they don't know how to do it themselves. Nina breaks down each move for them and when put all together, they make the Chicken Dance. | |
SCENE 1 cont'd | Big Bird and Snuffy think they have the perfect dance they can do - the Happy Hop. Big Bird sings as they both hop up and down, shaking the entire street. Snuffy thinks he might as well quit, since there's no dance he can do without causing harm. Nina shows him a safe, easy dance he can learn - the conga. Snuffy gets the hang of it and soon, everyone joins in. | |
