Picture Segment Description
COLD OPEN Grover introduces a theme of "music" for today's show, interrupted by some sunglass-wearing chickens.
(First: Episode 4607)

SCENE 1 Alan, Elmo, Rosita and Abby practice singing "Old MacDonald," as the real Old MacDonald and his animals will be visiting soon to sing with them. Just as Nina shows up to sing along, the animals march by in a protest. Old MacDonald is close behind and sadly informs the group the animals are on strike; they're tired of singing the same song with the same sounds over and over again. They plan to head back to the farm, but Nina tells them to stay so they can solve this problem.

SCENE 1 cont'd The gang puts their heads together to think of a solution. Since they don't like the old way the song goes, they need a new way of singing. Abby whips up a spell to fix the problem and causes the cow and sheep to emit transportation-related sounds instead. The chicken continues to cluck, as Alan has been affected by the spell instead. Abby tries it again, giving them all household sounds instead. She is able to return everyone, even Alan, to their original voices.

SCENE 1 cont'd Elmo notices the sound coming from the cow's bell. Inspired, Nina runs off and returns with some Cuban instruments the animals can try. She gets the cow to play her bell by hitting it with a stick, the sheep uses some bongos and the chicken gets a marímbula. The animals enjoy their new way of making music and they sing "Old MacDonald Had a Band."

Muppets Abby Cadabby leads the gang in a song to introduce the letter of the day - M.
