COLD OPEN | Ernie and Bert wait at the bus stop to set up today's theme of buses. Bert dismisses Ernie's claim that the bus stop is where passengers wait to be picked up by monsters. Sure enough, a monster (Leslie Carrara-Rudolph) appears and carries Bert off to the library. |

SCENE 1 | Elmo and Rudy have an empty refrigerator box and think of things they can play with it as (though Elmo's imagination is better than Rudy's). They see Rosita at the bus stop nearby and ask her to play. She's instead waiting for a city bus to meet up with her abuela. She tells them all about how the bus works before boarding it. This inspires the monsters to turn the box into a bus. |

SCENE 1 cont'd | Elmo and Rudy (with some help cutting from Elmo's daddy) have transformed the box into a city bus. Elmo assumes the role of the driver and Rudy gets to make all the "beeps" the bus makes. A horse (David Rudman) approaches the bus and decides to play along, asking to be dropped off at Hooper's Store. They all sing "The Wheels on the Bus" as they drive into the store, until Alan points out that buses don't go indoors. |

SCENE 1 cont'd | The horse disembarks from the bus, when Zoe appears. She's pretending to go to school, but since Elmo and Rudy's bus is a city bus, it can't take her there. Nina convinces them to convert it to a school bus. The monsters convert the box into a school bus, with Rudy now playing the bus monitor. Zoe hops on and they sing "The Wheels on the School Bus" as they make their way down the block. |
