Notes[]
- Richard Hunt described shooting this episode as an emotional experience for him: he had lost a great many friends to HIV/AIDS, and at the time of shooting had just lost his lover Nelson Bird,[1] whom he described as the love of his life. According to episode writer Laura Phillips, the allegory to the friends lost in the AIDS epidemic was intentional. Phillips remarked that Hunt understood exactly what they were trying to do with the episode, and Mike Quinn observed that Hunt knew what he was doing.[2] Hunt himself passed away from AIDS-related complications five years after the episode aired.
