COLD OPEN | Elmo tells the viewer that today, they'll be seeing many things made out of paper, including a cardboard box Ernie pops out of.
SCENE 1 | Elmo helps Chris bring out the Hooper's Store paper recycling, which he, Rosita, and Cookie Monster start to play with. Rosita's cardboard tube-telescope spots a nearby queen (Issa Rae) with two bricks. She tells them she wants to build a playcastle for her daughter, the princess, but with just two bricks, she can't do much of anything. She draws up a design and the monsters propose making the castle out of the various pieces of cardboard. The queen asks them to construct it in exchange for a million "thank yous" (and a cookie for Cookie Monster).
SCENE 1 cont'd | While the queen goes to Hooper's for a cabbage smoothie, the monsters study the plan to see what kind of shapes they'll need. They then get to work making the castle.
SCENE 1 cont'd | The cardboard castle is now completed. The queen is impressed, but realizes she forgot to add in a large door for the dragons to use (the dragons are their neighbors). There's no room to add anything but small doors, when Elmo comes up with a way they can make a big door using the space they still have, designing a drawbridge over the normal door.
SCENE 1 cont'd | The queen sees the new door and is again impressed, but then confesses she's forgotten another design she wants - one tower must be taller than the other. There's not enough cardboard to make one tower taller, so Cookie chops the other one shorter.
SCENE 1 cont'd | The castle is finally complete, just in time for the princess (voiced by Rae) to see it. She's amazed that it was not only handmade, but from paper products no less. She pretends a tube is a trumpet, then invites everyone in the castle to play. The queen finally rewards Cookie Monster with his cookie.
