Miss Piggy is cornered by flautist Jean-Pierre, who wants to speak French with her. She claims to have laryngitis, whispering, "My vocal coach told me not to speak French. I'm not even supposed to eat French fries!"

Jean-Pierre plays for some birds
- The Electric Mayhem, led by Janice, sings "Rockin' Robin," perched on tree branches.
- Piggy sings "Lo! Hear the Gentle Lark" as a duet with Jean-Pierre, but she finds it hard to keep up with his flute's trills, and impossible to reach the high notes.

- Jean-Pierre plays "The Little Shepherd" for the birds.

- "Ease on Down the Road": The rats object to Jean-Pierre's closing "Pied Piper" number, so they change the story. In the Muppet version, a plague of children is driven out of a town of rats.
