Picture Segment Description
COLD OPEN Elmo introduces the theme of machines, to which a robot asks what a machine is. Elmo explains that the robot himself is a machine, and that there are many different kinds of machines. The robot wonders if the other machines are his cousins.

SCENE 1 Abby and Rudy watch as Nina is fixing a bike, when Cinderella shows up, bringing a broken clock she wants fixed. She really needs this clock as she is going to a ball that she needs to get to before midnight, or else her fancy clothes will turn back into pajamas. Nina kindly accepts the offer and opens up the clock; it has gears inside. Nina explains that a clock is a machine, just like a washing machine or a bike. While Nina is fixing, Rudy has the idea to enlarge the clock, making it easier to see the gears...

SCENE 1 (cont'd) Abby does this unsuccessfully, as she makes her, Rudy, and Nina small, not the clock big and teleports them into the clock. They have a look around the clock, which, in their perspective, is really big. Rudy rides on the pendulum, going back and forth, but when he comes back, he himself is rocking back and forth. Abby spots the problem: one of the gears isn't working because the nut that holds it is loose. Nina attempts to solve the problem by screwing the nut with a wrench, but she is too short to reach it...

SCENE 1 (cont'd) Then, Rudy finds a cotton swab, which, because of their size, is quite a bit taller than the wrench. However, the swab can't hold on to the nut very well. Cinderella comes back, but she can't find Abby, Rudy, and Nina, so she yells to see if they can hear her. Abby yells back, telling Cinderella where they are, and Abby and Rudy come to see Cinderella. Cinderella is confused why Abby is inside a clock. Abby explains what happens, but Cinderella is more concerned about getting to the ball on time. Abby and Rudy go back to Nina. Nina wonders what she can do to fix the gears. The cotton swab is long enough but can't tighten the nut, while the wrench has the opposite problem. Then, Nina has the great idea of taping the two tools together. It works! They then get out of the clock and Cinderella goes to her ball.
