COLD OPEN | Elmo introduces the theme of robots, when two robots show up behind him. |

SCENE 1 | Elmo and Tamir are chatting about school when Norbert delivers the cheese sandwiches they ordered, wrapped in aluminum foil. Louie walks in with a furry creature. Alan explains it to be Elmo's dog, Tango, to which Norbert wonders what a dog is. Elmo explains all about dogs: they are animals, pets, and very good friends. After Norbert leaves, Tamir feels somewhat sad that Norbert can't have a dog, but comes to a realization: maybe he can! He further explains that the gang can build a robot dog just for him, as he conveniently has a robot-dog-building kit. |

SCENE 1 cont'd | Elmo is excited about the kit, but becomes disappointed when he finds the interior doesn't look like a robot dog, but Tamir explains to him that it is simply not finished being built. They need to follow the instructions and put the pieces together, so that is what they do... |

SCENE 1 cont'd | The three sing a song about building a robot dog, as they put the pieces together. The dog is finished, and Elmo wonders if it can wag its tail like Tango can. They turn it on, causing it to unenthusiastically repeat "woof" and "bark" while moving its tail incredibly slowly. The three are disappointed that the dog isn't as "happy and waggedy" as they hoped. To fix the problem, they use the foil from the sandwiches they never ate to create a shiny tail, which sticks up a lot like Tango's does. The only problem is that when they turn it on, it immediately falls off. Alan finds a jar of paintbrushes, one of which they use as the robot dog's tail. It's perfect, except for the fact that it isn't shiny. Their solution is to combine both ideas and wrap the paintbrush in aluminum foil. They are satisfied with this solution, and show it to Norbert who couldn't be more happy. The dog is named Alfred. |
