|Season||Season 52 (2021-2022)|
|COLD OPEN||Elmo and various bugs introduce today's theme of bugs.|
|SCENE 1||Today, Elmo, Abby, and Cookie Monster are "Bug Scouts," doing various kind deeds for bugs in the neighborhood. Currently, they are watching over a troupe of ants to make sure they return to their anthill safely with their food. With food on the brain, Cookie scarfs down a cookie, spreading crumbs everywhere and nearly harming the ants. The bugs begin to pick up the crumbs and carry them home.|
|SCENE 1 cont'd||The Bug Scouts then notice a runt ant struggling to move a very large piece of the cookie crumb. Abby believes they're too big and intimidating to help out directly, as Cookie muses about being small enough to help. Abby magically turns Elmo and Cookie Monster the size of the ant, while she remains big to watch over them. The ant, Artie, accepts their help, but they find the crumb is too heavy for them all to carry.|
|SCENE 1 cont'd||With a chant of "I wonder, what if, let's try," the three think of another way they can move the crumb. They try pushing it this time, but to no avail. Next, Abby provides them with a bit of yarn from her sash so they can pull the crumb. They manage to move the crumb a little, but the yarn eventually snaps. While brainstorming a new idea, Cookie accidentally breaks off a piece of the crumb. Elmo believes that if they can't move the large, heavy crumb, they can easily move smaller parts of it. Cookie uses his "Biscotti-Karate" to break the crumb apart into three managable pieces.|
|SCENE 1 cont'd||Elmo and Cookie help Artie load the crumbs into his anthill, then Abby returns them to normal size. They are soon met by a bee (Jennifer Barnhart) in need of help finding her hive. The Bug Scouts are to the rescue!|
