COLD OPEN | Elmo and Gabrielle list a number of holidays to introduce today's theme. |

SCENE 1 | Charlie and Tamir are making a peace tree. When they tell Elmo this, he thinks they mean "peach tree." What they actually mean is a paper tree with leaves showing how each individual will do their part to treat people fairly. They are making this peace tree because of Martin Luther King day. Elmo remembers that he and Abby learned about MLK in preschool: specifically that he was a good leader. Tamir adds that he led the way against racism, something Elmo and Abby are not a fan of. On top of that, he also gave a big speech, titled "I Have a Dream," that Charlie pulls up on her tablet. |

SCENE 1 cont'd | Elmo and Abby feel inspired to create their own leaves, but they aren't sure as to what Elmo should put on his leaf. The two overhear Gabrielle and Rosita, and walk over to them coloring on the table. Gabrielle mentions that she and Rosita read a book all about MLK at school: My Daddy, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.. This is what inspired Rosita's leaf to be a picture of her family together eating traditional Mexican food. Abby then comes up with the idea of her leaf to be sharing all her art supplies when drawing. Elmo is still unsure... |

SCENE 1 cont'd | Elmo walks over to Hooper's Store and sees Alan and tells him everything he remembers about Martin Luther King. When Elmo mentions he doesn't have anything to draw, Alan shows him his leaf: a peace sign. Tamir swoops in and mentions he'd expected Elmo to have drawn a heart. Elmo loves this idea and draws exactly that. At the celebration, everyone gets together and sings all about their promises on the peace tree and wish the audience a happy Martin Luther King Day. |
