COLD OPEN | Elmo sets up today's theme of building, having made a popsicle stick ramp for Slimey to get into Oscar's trash can. (First: Episode 4722)
SCENE 1 | Elmo and Rudy are having a sleepover, but Rudy's not sure what that even is, fake-sleeping for a few seconds before claiming to be done. Elmo then explains that sleepovers are all night, and that there are many fun things to do at sleepovers. First, he demonstrates shadow puppets, which startles Rudy, leading to a conversation about how Rudy is nervous, as he usually sleeps in very different conditions.
SCENE 1 cont'd | Louie arrives with s'mores, which startles Rudy. When Elmo explains that Rudy is nervous, Louie tells Rudy about his childhood, back when he used to make pillow forts, which made him feel very cozy. Rudy really likes the idea of making pillow forts and feels inspired to do so...
SCENE 1 cont'd | In song, Elmo, Rudy, and Louie all work together to finish a pillow fort. They believe they're done, until Rudy points out the lack of a roof. This revelation leads them into a round of "I wonder, what if, let's try," where they brainstorm roof alternatives. Rudy spots a blanket they could use for the roof, which Louie applies to the top of the fort. It's perfect! But only for a few seconds, after which it topples over. This is another problem.
SCENE 1 cont'd | The three spot Tango, who is messing with a blanket atop a couple of chairs. This leads Rudy to wonder: what if they could use the chairs to hold their blanket down so it doesn't fall down again. These chairs, though slowing one down, do not prevent a fall. The three look around for anything they can to hold down the blanket. The piano? Too heavy. Tango's toys? Too light. Finally, Elmo suggests using Louie's music books to hold them down. Louie places them on either side of the blanket, and the blanket stays put.
SCENE 1 cont'd | After a montage of Elmo and Rudy playing games, it's time for bed. After Louie turns out the lights and tucks the kids in, Rudy tells Elmo that he feels perfectly comfortable sleeping in Fort Rudy. Only thing missing is some sort of light, which Tango provides.
