COLD OPEN | Elmo and Rosita introduce today's theme of nature by pointing out the nature around them.
SCENE 1 | Today, Elmo, Rosita, and Grover are helping Farmer Todd take care of the goats ("las cabras" in Spanish). Todd arrives, thanking the three and pointing out that it's great to be out in nature. Nature turns out to be something Grover is an expert in, or so he proclaims.
SCENE 1 cont'd | Grover, now confident he's an expert in goats, attempts to say hello to one. He greets a chicken, confusing it for a goat, and begins to tell the supposed goat all about goats. After correcting Grover on his limited animal recognition, Elmo, Rosita, and Todd list all kinds of things about goats: their intelligence, friendliness, sounds, rectangular pupils, and hooves. Grover then gets worried that the goat is eating Todd's lawn, not realizing that's what goats are supposed to eat. Farmer Todd then feeds the goats, but something's the matter: his goat, Kudzu, is gone. The four friends then split up to solve "the missing goat mystery."
SCENE 1 cont'd | The two pairs each find clues: Elmo and Rosita spot hoof prints in the mud, while Todd and Grover hear a "baa." Todd and Grover begin to follow the sound and find a frog (Tyler Bunch) making that exact noise. Todd then points out it's likely that they'd actually been following the sound of the frog, leading Grover to misunderstand that Kudzu was turned into a frog, so he kisses it.
SCENE 1 cont'd | Todd hopes Elmo and Rosita are having better luck, but they're not. Apparently, the prints stop with the mud, meaning their clue leads nowhere. The four then meet up again, both pairs bringing up their lack of success. They realize they're all hungry and decide to take an apple break, which leads Rosita to wonder if Kudzu was hungry too, so they head to the orchard to find her. There she is! Now that they've found her, they finally get around to their apple break.
